The Kansas State High School Activities Association has announced new locations and schedules for state volleyball tournaments. The existing system was altered to accommodate for the recent split of Class 4A.

The 6-foot-5 soon-to-be junior Pat Muldoon transfered from Mill Valley and will join a BLHS boys basketball team in the thick of a grinding June. He left a Kaw Valley League team with its own state aspirations for another that won’t accept a conclusion to 2013-14 not involving a ring. With a senior class of an upward of nine players and the bitter taste of its 2013 sub-state exit still lingering, a sense that there weren’t enough days in June to prepare for 2013-14 was ever-present.

BLHS track and field qualifies for state in three relay, six individual events

The Basehor-Linwood track and field team qualified for state in three relay and six individual events at Friday’s Class 4A regional meet in Baldwin. The BLHS girls placed third overall with 46 points, behind De Soto (51.5) and Baldwin. Meanwhile, Bonner Springs’ boys team placed sixth out of 16 teams, qualifying three individuals and one relay team.
BLHS girls soccer team sends off longtime leaders

On Friday, Stephens scored twice and Rutherford added a goal in a 4-0 win against Bishop Ward to cap the regular season. The Bobcats’ season, and the two seniors’ careers, concluded Monday in a 6-0 loss to Bonner Springs.
