Ruth Isabelle Anthony, 90, Shawnee, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2007. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee; burial in the Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Memorial contributions may go to either the Countyside Christian Church Ladies Kitchen, 6101 Nall Ave, Mission, KS 66202, or the Disabled American Veterans.
Mrs. Anthony was born Sept. 19, 1917, near Fairfax, Mo., to John and Eelzena May (Nauman) Gorman. On June 16, 1949, she married Carl Anthony. Prior to being a homemaker, Mrs. Anthony worked as a teletype operator for TWA. She was a member of the Eastern Star Beatrice Chapter.
Mrs. Anthony was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Anthony, on March 11, 2007. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family would like to express a special appreciation to the staff of Sweet Life of Shawnee. Online condolences may be shared at www.amosfamily.com.
