Ms. Messenger died Sunday, May 25, 2008, at Tonganoxie Nursing Center.
She was born June 2, 1923, in Dodge City, Kan., the daughter of Albert and Lucy Hudson Messenger. She was a cook and raised cattle on the family farm.
