Services for Charles L. Burt, 84, of Edwardsville, were Monday, Sept. 29, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Burial was in Edwardsville Cemetery.
Mr. Burt died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008.
He was born Feb. 14, 1924, in Redfield, Kan., the son of Carl and Bessie Burt.
Mr. Burt served his country in the U.S. Air Force, retiring after more than 28 years. He was a Veteran of WWII, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. After the military, he later retired from Boise Cascade.
He married Marjorie (Brown) Burt in Mound City, Kan., on Sept. 1, 1945. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a son Larry Sr., Kansas City, Kan.; a daughter, Connie Goodrich, Auburn, Kan.; a sister, Mary Margaret Detmering, Rogers, Ark.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
A son, Michael Dean Burt, died earlier.
