Arthur W. "Red" Wise 1932 - 2008 Basehor
Services for Arthur W. “Red” Wise, 76, of Basehor, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery near Basehor.
Mr. Wise died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.
He was born April 9, 1932 in Kansas City, Kan., and was a longtime Basehor area resident. He retired in 1994 after working for more than 42 years as a machinist for Trans World Airlines. Mr. Wise was an avid race fan and part owner of the Wise race team, and enjoyed spending time at Lakeside Speedway.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mary Wise, of the home; two sons, David, Basehor, and Doug, Leavenworth; three daughters, Cassie Baker, McLouth, Kan., Patty Delpercio, Merdan, Kan., and Viv Marah, Basehor; two sisters, Betty McDowell, Basehor, and Sharon Brown, Billings, Mont.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at the funeral home.
