Ronny Glenn Johns 1932 - 2010
Bonner Springs — Services for Ronny Glenn Johns, 77, Bonner Springs, were Monday, Feb. 1, at Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kan. Burial was at National Cemetery, Leavenworth.
Mr. Johns died Wednesday, Jan. 27, at the Bonner Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Aug. 6, 1932, in Gothenburg, Neb. He graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1950. From 1952 to 1956 he served in the U.S. Navy. In 1956 he worked at Deaver Buick until moving to Kansas City, Kan., in 1957.
Mr. Johns was a member of the American Legion Post 327 and Welborn Baptist Church.
During Mr. Johns’ career, he managed grocery stores in the Kansas City area. For the past 11 years he was a Little Debbie distributor.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Shirley P. Johns; a daughter, Michele, and her husband, Tom Tunnell, Topeka; a son, Scott and his wife, Karen, Bonner Springs; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three stepgranddaughters; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; and his beloved pets.
