Services for Carol E. Mott, 78, formerly of Cape Cod, Mass., and Bonner Springs, were private. Burial was in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
Mrs. Mott died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, surrounded by her children at Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation in Shawnee.
She served in many churches, schools, Scout groups and military wives groups. She and her husband were foster parents for many years.
Mrs. Mott was the beloved wife for 56 years of the late Laurence A.E. Mott.
Survivors include three daughters, Renda Mott and her spouse, Jennifer Mines, Arlington, Mass., Kathi (Dennis) Wilhite, Bonner Springs, and Debra (Michael) Grain, Piper; three sons, David (Nancy) Mott, Bonner Springs, Charles Mott, Lakewood, Wash., and Dana (Lisa) Mott, Harwich, Mass.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wanda (Wes) Potter, Alabama.
The family suggests memorials to Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, sent in care of Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
