Virginia R. White 1928 - 2007

Funeral services for Virginia Ruth White, 79, Lansing, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Davis Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Basehor.
Mrs. White died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007, at her home.
She was born Nov. 29, 1928, in Elgin, the daughter of Robert Oscar and Ruth Isabel King Powell.
Mrs. White became a member of Eastern Star Lansing Graham Chapter 395 in 1953 and was past matron of Graham Chapter 395 and De Soto 78. She was also a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and past president of the Kansas Rebekah Lodge.
She married Edward White on Dec. 8, 1946. He died in 2003.
Mrs. White was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas White.
Survivors include two sons, Robert E. White, Leavenworth, and James F. White, Baldwin City; a brother, Wayne Powell; a sister, Betty Kujawski; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.
