Services for Joseph E. Lybarger, 67, of Basehor, were Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kan. Burial was at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Lybarger died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008.

He was born Jan. 11, 1941, in Carrolton, Mo., and was a resident of Kansas City, Kan., for more than 30 years before moving in 1979 to Basehor. He was a 1959 graduate of Wyandotte High School, an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow.

Mr. Lybarger was a tireless worker for his family, working for many years at two jobs, Lybarger Pest Control and General Motors. He retired in 2000. He was a member of the United Auto Workers. He was an avid NASCAR fan, loved garage sale browsing, and was "Mr. Fix-It" for his family.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Antoinette (Toni) Lybarger; a son, Scott Lybarger; a daughter, Jodi Wymore; five grandchildren; a brother; and two sisters; and many other relatives and special friends.
The family suggests memorials to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, sent in care of Porter Funeral Home & Crematory, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, KS 66102.
