Margaret "Maggie" Foster Newby 1929 - 2008 Leavenworth

Funeral services for Margaret "Maggie" Foster Newby, 78, Leavenworth, will be 7 p.m. Thursday Feb. 28, 2008 at the Church of the Nazarene, 901 Lake St., McLouth. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 to 6 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Mount Washington Forever Cemetery, Independence, Mo.
Mrs. Newby died Feb. 23, 2008 at the Golden Living Center, Lansing.
She was born August 18, 1929 in Tulsa, Okla., the daughter of Walter and Pearl (Boling) Foster. She attended art school in Rockport, Texas and was a graduate of Patricia Stevens School of Modeling. She was successful many years in modeling and sales. She was very gifted as an artist in oil, acrylic, charcoal and ceramics, and was awarded numerous times for entries in county fairs. Mrs. Newby was a member of the McLouth Church of the Nazerene. She was married to William Newby in 1983, he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Kevin Campbell, Phoenix; two daughters, Lynda Spencer, Clearwater, Fla. and Karyn Campbell, Scottsdale, Ariz; one stepson, Dan Newby, Kansas City, Mo; five stepdaughters, Connie Waters, Tess Newby, Lora Drauszewski, Leslye Lauer and Charity Newby; one sister, Harriet Jacobsen; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
