Elaine Parker-Bailey, 85, of Highland, Kan., formerly of Bonner Springs, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008. Services were Tuesday at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with the burial in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Parker-Bailey was born on Jan. 6, 1922, in Slater, Mo., to Fred and Opal (Snider) Eikerman. She had worked for Intercollegiate Press in Johnson County and moved away from the Kansas City area 25 years ago and had lived in Denton and Highland, Kan., since.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, Reuben Parker and George Bailey; a daughter, Rhonda Coy; a brother, a sister and two grandchildren. Survivors include a son, Frank W. Parker of Tonganoxie; a daughter, Alice McDonald of Highland; six stepchildren of Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Doris Trent, Kansas City, Kan., and Ruth McKee of Louisville, Texas; one brother, Gene Eikerman of Marshall, Mo.; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
