Private committal of ashes for Harry Eugene Monk Jr., 88, of Bonner Springs, is planned at a later date.
Mr. Monk died Sunday, June 29, 2008, at the Bonner Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Sept. 10, 1919, in Kansas City, Mo.
Mr. Monk lived the majority of his life in Kansas City, Mo., before moving to Bonner Springs in 1994. He trimmed trees for the Kansas City, Mo., Parks & Recreation Department for more than 30 years, retiring in 1985.
His wife, Eula Fern Monk, died in 2002, and a daughter, Barbara Lee Monk, died in 1960.
Survivors include a sister, Betty Nachbar, Kansas City, Kan.; and a stepdaughter, Sharon Radspinner, Bonner Springs.
