J B Stinnett Sr. 1926 - 2008 Ozawkie, Kan.

Services for J B Stinnett Sr., 82, of Ozawkie, Kan., will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 7, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs. Burial will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth.
Mr. Stinnett died Monday, June 30, 2008, at Midland Hospice House of Topeka.
He was born June 6, 1926, in Rhea County, Tenn., the son of Joseph Franklin and Betty Stinnett.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed in Alaska on the Minesweeper USS Affray. He retired from the railroad, where he was employed for more than 40 years as a locomotive engineer for the Kansas City Terminal Railway Co.
Mr. Stinnett was a member of the Masons, Shriners Mounted Patrol and American Legion; he was a past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star.
A son, J B Stinnett Jr., died in 2005; a grandson also died earlier.
Survivors include three daughters, Victoria Frost, Overland Park, Patricia Trickett, Bonner Springs, and Lillian Rester, Bahama, N.C.; two sons, Terry Stinnett, Mission, and Joseph Franklin Stinnett II, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren about to be born.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 6, at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
