James Milford Owens 1937 - 2008 Bonner Springs

Graveside services for James "Jim" Milford Owens, 71, of Bonner Springs, will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 18, at Edwardsville Cemetery.
Mr. Owens died Tuesday, July 15, 2008.
He was born Feb. 23, 1937, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of James and Mary Alice (Hollenbeck) Owens.
After his retirement from General Motors, Mr. Owens enjoyed spending the wintertime in Texas with his friends and selling fruit and vegetables during the summertime at the corner market.
A grandson died in 1999.
Survivors include five children, James "Dean" Owens, Olathe, Marcia Owens and Barbara Owens, both of Bonner Springs, and Jeffery Owens and Richie Owens, both of Olathe; two brothers, Ray, Bonner Springs, and Rick, Edwardsville; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his companions Coco and Tiny.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, sent in care of the funeral home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
