Services for Murlin Esther Norman, 65, of Edwardsville, were Saturday, June 21, at Elm Grove Baptist Church, Bonner Springs. Burial was in Edwardsville Cemetery.
Mrs. Norman died after a lengthy illness Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kan.
She was born Dec. 9, 1942, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Merle and Lorine Jackson.
She graduated with honors from Kansas City Kansas Community College as a registered nurse and went on to work her entire career at Providence Medical Center.
Her husband, William B. Norman, died in 1997.
Survivors include two sons Carl W. Norman, Basehor, and Fredrick A. Baker, Edwardsville; two daughters, Laura E. Zaring, Stockton, Mo., and Vicki K. Barton, Edwardsville; two granddaughters who lived in the home, Rebecca M. Baker and Jacqueline M. Baker; five additional grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nine sisters and brothers.
The family suggests memorials to Susan G. Komen For The Cure, sent in care of Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs 66012.
