Gayle Ann Hollingsworth 1944 - 2008 Joplin, Mo.

Funeral services for Gayle Ann Hollingsworth, 63, formerly of Tonganoxie, will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 25 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel in Joplin, Mo., with ministers Rick Bushnell, Ed Pearson and Don Fankhauser officiating. Family will receive friends following the service at the church.
A second memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 26 at Tonganoxie Christian Church with Rev. Dirk Scates officiating.
Mrs. Hollingsworth died Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin. She was born Oct. 25, 1944, in Higginsville, Mo., the daughter of Gilbert and Josephine Hollingsworth. She lived in Joplin 16 years before moving to Tonganoxie in May 2006.
She served as a Dorm Parent at Ozark Christian College in Joplin for 16 years and had previously served as office manager for Clark Plumbing Co. in Leavenworth. She was a 1962 graduate of Higginsville High School. She attended Central College of the Bible in Moberly, Mo., and graduated from Ozark Bible College in Joplin in 1966. She was a member of the Tonganoxie Christian Church, and formerly was a member of the College Heights Christian Church in Joplin where she served as a Worship Leader. She formerly served as a Youth Leader and Worship Leader for the Wallula Christian Church in Lansing. Gayle previously served on the Lansing School Board. She was currently serving as a school board member for Genesis Christian Academy in Tonganoxie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Mark Pearson, all of Eldon, Mo.
She married Winston Hollingsworth on April 3, 1966, in Olean, Mo., and he survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Mike Hollingsworth, Liberty, Mo., and Wick Hollingsworth, Tonganoxie; two daughters, Beth Hollingsworth, Olathe, and Lea Mielke, Tonganoxie; three brothers, Ed Pearson, Mt. Vernon, Mo., Maurice Pearson, Eldon, Mo., and Steve Pearson, Jefferson City, Mo.; four sisters, Brenda Thoman, Higginsville, Mo., Nancy Wingrath, Henley, Mo., Kevin Grant, Lebanon, Mo., and Robin Fankhauser, Odessa, Texas; and six grandchildren.
Memorial services for Gayle will be at 6:00 p.m.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
