Frank E. Shockey 1930 - 2009

Memorial Services for Frank E. Shockey, 79, Edwardsville, were Saturday, April 18, at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, Kansas City, Kan.
Mr. Shockey died Monday, April 13, 2009.
He was born Jan. 17, 1930 in Minco, Okla., the son of Lewis Benjamin and Clara May (Griffin) Shockey. He moved to Kansas City, Kan. when he was 11.
He joined the Army and served during the Korean War. After his discharge, he managed Stan Grocery & Hardware for 12 years before he and his wife bought and operated Shockey's Retail Liquor for 20 years. After he retired, he worked for the Vaughn-Trent Thrift Store.
He married his wife, Clara Edith Baldwin, in 1948; she survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons: Jeff Shockey and wife, Cindy, and Andrew Shockey and wife, Dawn, all of Kansas City, Kan.; his siblings: Leroy Shockey and wife, Barbara, Edwardsville, and Viola Gumm and husband, Wayne, Bonner Springs; five grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters; and he and Clara's beloved dog, Foxy Shockey.
