Nancy Ann Leipard 1938 - 2009
Services for Nancy Ann Sammons Leipard, 70, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at First Baptist Church, Gardner. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. at the church.
Mrs. Leipard died Jan. 24, 2009, at her home.
She was born Nov. 16, 1938, in Mexico, Mo., to Xury Joseph Fisher II and Pearl Irene Adams Fisher.
She graduated from North East High School in Independence, Mo. She lived in Phoenix, Ariz., and moved to Gardner in 1984. She married David Joe Leipard on Nov. 7, 2003. She was a homemaker and also ran Grandma’s Day Care until her retirement in 2007. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gardner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her previous husband, Frank Sammons in 1989, and a brother, Melvin Charles Fisher.
She is survived by her husband, Joe; children Vicky Brown and Nick of Des Moines, Iowa, Peggy Miller and Robert of Bonner Springs, and Darrin Sammons and Karen of Wellsville, Kan.; siblings Alice Randolph of Phoenix, Ariz., Xury Joseph Fisher III of Lebanon, Mo., Thomas Wayne Fisher of Tecumseh, Mo., and Polly Irene Thomas of Gardner; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
