Vicki Bergkamp 1954 - 2009
Bonner Springs — Funeral Mass for Vicki Bergkamp, 54, Bonner Springs, was Wednesday July 1, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Shawnee. Cremation followed.
Mrs. Bergkamp died Thursday, June 25, at home.
She was born July 12, 1954, in Flint, Mich., the only daughter of eight children, to Leslie and Beverly (Morrison) Renshaw.
She moved in 1972 to Kansas City to go to school. There she met her future husband, Michael Bergkamp. They married on Oct. 26, 1974, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bonner Springs, and they practiced their faith in that parish ever since.
For the past five years, Mrs. Bergkamp had been a medical assistant for United Medical Group, most recently for Dr. Michael Harwood.
Survivors include her husband, Michael, of the home; four sons, Nathan Bergkamp and wife, Charissa, Fort Hood, Texas, Jason Bergkamp, Chris Bergkamp and wife, Crystal, Matthew Bergkamp and fiance, April, all of Bonner Springs; six brothers, Bruce, Brad, Keith, Duane, Leon and Troy Renshaw; and four grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Foundation or to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund, both sent in care of Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS. 66012
