Lorraine T. Rankin 1935 - 2009

Tonganoxie — Mass of Christian Burial for Lorraine T. Rankin, 73, Tonganoxie, was Thursday, July 9, at Holy Angels Church, Basehor. Burial was at Holy Angels Cemetery.
Mrs. Rankin died Sunday, July 5, 2009, with her daughter by her side
She was born Aug. 28, 1935, the daughter of Anthony and Josephine Springer.
Mrs. Rankin worked as an office manager with her husband, Jack, in his chiropractic office, in Kansas City, Kan. She continued working in the office for Dr. Andrew Harding until her retirement.
Mrs. Rankin was proud of her Croatian/Slovenian heritage and after retirement volunteered as a tour guide at the Strawberry Hill Museum in Kansas City, Kan. She loved to sing and dance and in her earlier years, performed with Don Lipovac and the Tamburitzans.
She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Dr. Jack E. Rankin.
Survivors include her daughter, Deb Huff and Gary Mathews, Fairway; a son, Tim Rodina and Dee Dee, Excelsior Springs, Mo.; a granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; a brother, James Springer and Jean, Huntsville, Ala.; two sisters, Josephine Rossi, Las Vegas, and Loretta Favrow and Ron, Olathe; two stepdaughters, Jacque Byrd and Mike, and Kelly Moore; four stepgrandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
