John Phillip Lillig III 1953 - 2009
Basehor — Mass of Christian Burial for John Phillip Lillig III, 56, Basehor, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 8, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Basehor. Burial will be at Holy Angels Cemetery, Basehor.
Mr. Lillig died Tuesday, May 5, 2009.
He was born Feb. 26, 1953, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of John and Judy Lillig Jr.
Mr. Lillig was a 1971 graduate of Bishop Ward High School and enjoyed coaching football for the CYO. He was employed by the Kansas Department of Transportation for more than 35 years as an inspector, working out of the Bonner Springs office.
He was devoted to the Holy Angels Cemetery Association for many years, as well as the Knights of Columbus and Parish Council.
On Oct. 24, 1975, he married Vicki Alfino. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Christy Dow and Carrie Handy; a son, Shawn Lillig; his mother, Judy Lillig; a brother, Mike Lillig; a sister, Colleen Mann; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Holy Angels Parish Hall, Basehor. Friends also may call one hour before the service.
