Daryl Renus Carlson Bonner Springs

Bonner Springs — Memorial services for Daryl Renus Carlson, 68, Bonner Springs, and formerly of Kansas City, Kan., will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 22, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1700 Westport Rd., Kansas City, Mo.
Mr. Carlson died Saturday, May 16, 2009.
He was born in Lindsborg, the son of Ruby and Renus Carlson. Mr. Carlson was raised in Marquette. He graduated from Marquette High School in 1958. In 1962, he received his bachelor’s degree in education from Bethany College. In 1967, he received a master’s degree in mathematics from the University of Northern Iowa.
He was a mathematics teacher at Washington High School and a math and computer science administrator in the Kansas City, Kan., school district from 1968 to 2000.
Mr. Carlson was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
His wife, Jean Winkler Carlson, died earlier.
Survivors include a brother, Kurt Carlson (Sue), Topeka; three daughters, Julie Harding, , Lindsborg, Cheryl Stark, Canton, Mich., and Kristen Rosche (Kenneth), Basehor; a son, Marc Winkler (Patti) , Lenexa; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation is 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. immediately before the memorial services at the church. The family suggests memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church, sent in care of Porter Funeral Home & Crematory, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, KS 66102.
