Larry Lee Schif 1938 - 2009

Bonner Springs — Services for Larry Lee Schif, 71, Bonner Springs, were Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Bonner Springs United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, at Graceland Cemetery, Burlington, Kan.
Mr. Schif died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at home with his family at his bedside.
He was born April 25, 1938, in Emporia, the son of Frank Edward Schif and Pauline Ellen (Gooch) Schif.
Mr. Schif was raised on a farm near Burlington. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1956. He worked for Santa Fe Railway for seven years, then spent the rest of his career with Mid-Continent/National Cold Storage, from which he retired as a manager in 2000.
While his children were young, he enjoyed helping them in Boy Scout Troop 149 and Chaparral 4-H Club. Mr. Schif was a member of Bonner Springs United Methodist Church.
In 1959, Larry married Donna Jean (Ward) Schif in Burlington. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Larry, Lincoln, Neb., and Garry and wife, Susan, Bonner Springs; a daughter, Kerry Lynn (Schif) Stumbough and husband, Roy, Bonner Springs; and five grandchildren.
