Rose Ann Paulovich Hajek 1925 - 2010 Kansas City, Kan.

Funeral Mass for Rose Ann Paulovich Hajek, 84, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday Aug. 11, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Shawnee. Burial will be in Pilson Cemetery, Pilson.
Mrs. Hajek was born Dec. 8, 1925, in Oakview, Colo., the daughter of Frank and Anna O'Blak Paulovich.
She died Aug. 8, 2010, in Kansas City.
Her family settled in Aguilar, Colo., where she received her education and sacraments in the Catholic Church.
She married Lamar Hajek on March 18, 1944, in Durham, N.C. While her husband was overseas in the Army Military Police, she was a supervisor at Kress and United Dollar stores in Colorado and Kansas.
After the war, the couple settled on the family farm in Marion County, near Lost Springs. The family later moved to Beardsley in Rawlins County.
Mrs. Hajek was a gifted seamstress, devoting eight years to taking special care of all the altar linens for St. John's Church.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atwood, as well as a member of the Christian Mothers Altar Society. She held various offices, including president at St. John's. She was also the Colby Deanery president and a lifetime member of the Stratton, Neb., VFW Auxiliary.
Since 2007 she resided at Delaware Highlands in Kansas City, Kan.
Her husband, Lamar, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters Phyllis (Marvin) Zishka, Bonner Springs, and Mary Lou Rossi, Overland Park, a granddaughter; two great-granddaughters; a brother, Tom, Aguilar, Colo., nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs, with a rosary service starting at 6 p.m.
The family suggests memorials to Catholic Community Hospice or the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City, both in care of the funeral home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
