Clarence A. Neal 1929 - 2010

Edwardsville — Funeral Mass for Clarence Arthur Neal, 81, Edwardsville, was Saturday, Aug. 7, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Kansas City, Kan. Burial was in Edwardsville Cemetery.
Mr. Neal died Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Select Specialty Hospital at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan.
He was born March 19, 1929, in St. Joseph, Mo., the son of Katherine K. Kienzle and Hector T. Neal Sr.
Mr. Neal moved to the Wyandotte County area in his youth. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and had served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Reserve. He had been the Delaware Township constable, had served as a Delaware Township trustee and a Delaware Township volunteer fireman. He later served on the Edwardsville Fire Department and was on the Edwardsville Cemetery Board.
Early in his career, Mr. Neal worked as a mechanic for Blair Auto Repair for 20 years. He retired in 1994 after working for more than 24 years with Frey Ford and later Bonner Springs Ford.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Alice E. Neal, of the home; two daughters, Patricia (Greg) Welicky and Deborah (John) Martin; a son, Robert (Danielle) Neal; a brother, Hector T. “Bud” (Ruth) Neal Jr.; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Colgan and Martha Colgan; and five grandchildren.
