William Campbell Jr. 1931 - 2010 Edwardsville
Memorial services for William “Bill” Campbell Jr., 79, of Edwardsville, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, at First Christian Church of Bonner Springs.
Mr. Campbell died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010.
He was born March 25, 1931, the son of Wilma and Roscoe Campbell. He grew up in Overland Park and graduated from Shawnee Mission High School. He took classes at Johnson County Community College and worked in the maintenance department. He held an electronics certificate and was a ham radio operator.
Mr. Campbell served in the Army and was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. He loved Boy Scouting, participating as a youth and then as an adult volunteer. He belonged to the Kansas City Astronomy Club. He was an emergency medical technicians at Research Hospital. He worked for his dad, building houses in Johnson County.
Mr. Campbell was a member of First Christian Church of Bonner Springs.
His wife, Carlee, died earlier.
Survivors include two sisters, Becky Combs Valencia, Calif., and Alice Campbell, Bonner Springs.
