Donald E. Keefer 1932 - 2010

Bonner Springs — Services for Donald “Don” E. Keefer, 77, of Bonner Springs, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs. Burial will be in Bonner Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Keefer died Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, surrounded by his family.
He was born Aug. 9, 1932, in Gettysburg, Pa. Mr. Keefer had retired after 22 years in the U.S. Army followed by a 24-year career with the state of Kansas.
He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 6654 in De Soto.
A daughter, Donna Nelson, died in 2007, and a grandson, Jeffrey Alan Lee, died in 1998.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Faye Keefer, of the home; two sons, Michael Keefer (Barbara), Olathe, and Robert Powell (Tami), Merriam; four daughters, Beth Davis (Larie) and Susan Lee, both of Shawnee, Jeanine Postoak (Dale), Okemah, Okla., and Jonna Beckman (Barry), Rantoul; a brother, Richard Keefer (Ruby) and two sisters, Shirley Hammond and Barbara Berwager (Kenneth), all of Pennsylvania; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandson.
Friends may call at the visitation from noon to 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 19, at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association, sent in care of the funeral home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
