Donald Edward Wiley Sr. 1933 - 2010

Basehor — Services for Donald E. Wiley Sr., 76, Basehor, were Monday, Feb. 22, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Basehor.
Mr. Wiley died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at his home.
He was born Nov. 22, 1933, in Adams County, Iowa, the son of Beulah (Diggs) and Loran Wiley.
Mr. Wiley spent his early years in Nodaway, Iowa, and St. Francis, Texas. He graduated from Nodaway High School in 1951, and shortly after joined the U.S. Air Force. He was a Korean War veteran. He later worked for Martin Marietta Corp., participating in the missile testing program at Holliman Air Force Base, N.M.
He and his family had lived in Alamogordo, N.M., Baltimore, Ryuku Islands, Okinawa, Japan, Fort Walton Beach, Fla. The family settled in Basehor, where Don was manager of the NAPA store in Kansas City, Kan., until his retirement in 1989.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth, of the home; five children: Donald Jr. (Susan), Chatham, Ill., Annette Landauer (Barry), Merriam, Allison Markham, Basehor, Doug (Tonya), Bonner Springs, and Daniel (Missy), Lansing; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathryn Webb (Dick), Elk Grove, Calif.; a brother, Clifford, Rosburg, Wash.; and a sister-in-law, Lela Wiley, Basehor.
