Carl F. Wasson 1922 - 2010 Bonner Springs

Memorial services for Carl F. Wasson, 88, Bonner Springs, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at First Christian Church of Bonner Springs.
Mr. Wasson died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010.
He was born Feb. 2, 1922, in Rich Hill, Mo., and was a lifelong resident of Bonner Springs.
He was married to Delores Wasson for 55 years until her death in 1991.
Mr. Wasson retired as lab supervisor for Lone Star Cement after 38 years. In his 30 years of retirement, he enjoyed playing golf and traveling.
He was a member of the Lions Club and was active in the Bonner Springs Senior Center.
Mr. Wasson served in the U.S. Army 612 Engineers and was awarded the Bronze Star for his actions during D-Day and the Silver Star for his heroic actions during the Battle of the Bulge. His Army group held annual reunions for 65 years.
Survivors include a son, Terry Wasson (Sue); a daughter, Deborah Jacobs (Tom); and a grandson.
