Lewis O. Taylor 1934 - 2010 Bonner Springs

Services for Lewis O. Taylor, 75, Bonner Springs, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Muncie Cemetery, Lansing.
Mr. Taylor died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, while surrounded by his loved ones at his home.
He was born Nov. 9, 1934, at his parents’ home in Caplinger Mills, Mo., the son of Pinkman and Ressie (Keith) Taylor.
He married his wife Shirley Ann Willard on Nov. 29, 1951 in Olathe, KS.,
Mr. Taylor was a diesel technician and owned his own repair shop in the 1960s. He later worked for Deffenbaugh Industries for more than 20 years. One of his lifelong enjoyments was racing automobiles, first drag racing and later stock cars, traveling all over the Midwest. He was the late-model Kansas State champion for seven straight years and was a member of the International Motor Contest Association.
On Nov. 29, 1951, he married his wife, Shirley Ann Willard, in Olathe. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his wife Shirley Ann Taylor of the home; three daughters, Debra Ralph, Overland Park, Dianna (John) McKinzie, Leavenworth, and Donna (Scott) Reynolds, Linwood; two brothers, Jerry Taylor, Bonner Springs, and Joe Taylor, Olathe; a sister, Judy Davenport, Shawnee; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
