Eugene M. Sedgwick 1945 - 2011 Bonner Springs

The family of Eugene M. Sedgwick, 66, lifelong resident of Bonner Springs, will receive friends at a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home.
Mr. Sedgwick died Friday Aug. 5, 2011, while surrounded by his family at the Kansas City Hospice House
He was born July 3, 1945, in rural Bonner Springs, the son of Pete and Margaret (Gross) Sedgwick.
Mr. Sedgwick graduated from Bonner Springs High School in 1963. He took over his family’s farm when his father died in 1963 and was named the Outstanding Young Farmer by the Bonner Springs and Kansas State Jaycees in 1973. Mr. Sedgwick also worked for his brother-in-law at Kemler Auto Parts in Basehor and retired from Desoto Feed and Grain.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda (James) Clark, Bonner Springs; a son, Tommy (Sara) Sedgwick, Bonner Springs; three grandchildren; three sisters, Virginia Weatherbie, Mason, Ohio, and Rosalie Kemler and Helen Oelschlaeger, both of Basehor; and his friend and former wife, Doris (Dennis) Graff, Basehor.
The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association or Kansas City Hospice House, sent in care of the funeral home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
