Don L. Anders 1948 - 2011 Bonner Springs

Services for Don L. Anders, 63, Bonner Springs, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Anders died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Mo.
He was born Sept. 22, 1948, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Alvin and Vina (Rischer) Anders.
Mr. Anders was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, and he worked for more than 30 years for the General Motors Fairfax Plant, where he retired as an equipment operator in 2001.
He was a member of the United Auto Workers union, the Animal Crackers Club and Lenexa Christian Center.
Mr. Anders loved working with his hands and invented and built a trailer that can be pulled behind a handicapped scooter.
His first wife, Linda Anders, died in 1995.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Anders, of the home; two stepsons, Manuel Hanson, Tulsa, Okla., and Robert Hanson (Jansen), Denison, Texas; and seven grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the funeral home.
