William D. Corkins 1944 - 2011 Tonganoxie

A celebration of life will take place Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011 from 1-4 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Tonganoxie.
William D. Corkins, 67, Tonganoxie, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at his home.
He was born Feb. 16, 1944, in Elwood, the son of Everett and Elizabeth (Hackett) Corkins. He was retired and was a great helper to many people. He was a member of the Tonganoxie United Methodist Church. On April 20, 1986, he was united in marriage to Peggy (Jones) Corkins. She survives of the home.
Survivors include; two sons, William Corkins, Atchison, and Donald Harden, Tonganoxie; five daughters, Pamela Corkins, Atchison, Elizabeth Flower and Terri Hurtado, Lawrence, Sharon Earl, Hesston; three brothers, George Corkins, Atchison, Rick Corkins, Katy, Texas, Gary Bruce, Portland, Tenn.; seven sisters, Alice Jones, Steele, Mo., Helen Marks, Tonganoxie, Phyllis Wright, Tonganoxie, Janice Moore, Kansas City, Mo., Olivia Boos and Linda Metcalf, both of Atchison, Joan Marley, Portland, Ore.; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Corkins donated his body to the Kansas University Medical Center. The family suggests memorials to Lawrence Memorial Hospital Oncology Department. Quisenberry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
