Sandra Sue (Dunn) Pickett 1954 - 2011 Garland, Texas

Services for Sandra Sue (Dunn) Pickett, 56, Garland, Texas, and formerly of Bonner Springs, will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 11, at Bonner Springs United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Bonner Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Pickett died Thursday July 7, 2011, at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Mo.
She was born Oct. 11, 1954, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Gene and Betty Dunn.
Mrs. Pickett was a longtime area resident and a 1972 graduate of Bonner Springs High School. She attended Kansas State University,
She started her career in the motion picture industry as a film buyer and theater-booking agent was a member of Women of the Motion Picture Industry. She transferred to Dallas in 1997.
Mrs. Garland was proud to help build her family’s custom-built homes, including their latest residence in Garland.
She was a member, baptized and married in the Bonner Springs United Methodist Church.
She became an inspiration for many women during her long battle with ovarian cancer.
Her husband of 37 years, Charles A. Pickett, died in 2009.
Survivors include two daughters, Cybill Murillo and Alison Tucker, both of Bonner Springs; her parents, Gene and Betty Dunn, Topeka; two brothers, Joel L. Dunn, Kansas City, Mo., and Rick A. Dunn Sr., Raleigh, N.C.; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at a visitation from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 10, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs.
