Winifred Louise "Winnie" Vitt 1928 - 2011 Bonner Springs

Services for “Winnie” Winifred Louise Vitt, 83, Bonner Springs, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 18, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Shawnee. Burial will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, Eudora.
Mrs. Vitt died Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Merriam.
She was born March 15, 1928, in Walnut, Kan.
Mrs. Vitt was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and its Altar Society. She was a member of the New Century Club, and active with the Bonner Springs Senior Citizens Center. She was a volunteer at Delaware Ridge Elementary School, where she helped with the pen pal program.
Her husband of 43 years, William J. Vitt, died in 1990. A daughter, Mary Ann Vitt, died in 1950. A son, Patrick Joseph Vitt, died in 1957. A granddaughter, Courtney Laine Vitt, died in 1996.
Survivors include 12 children, David J. Vitt, Brewster, Wash., Marlene M. Vitt, Lawrence E. Vitt, William M. Vitt, Joseph P. Vitt, Richard J. Vitt, and Dennis P. Vitt, all of Bonner Springs, Theresa E. Thorpe, Overland Park, Stephan F. Vitt, Shell Knob, Mo., Debra L. Box, Prairie Village, Alan G. Vitt, Lawrence, and Daniel J. Vitt, Shawnee; 22 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the visitation from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 17, at the church, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
