Pat Lawson 1935 - 2011 McPherson
Private inurnment for Pat Lawson, 76, McPherson, will take place at a later date.
Mrs. Lawson died Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at McPherson Care Center.
She was born Aug. 12, 1935, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Max and Monette Scharfenberg.
A 1953 graduate of Wyandotte High School, she married Robert Lawson in 1953 and together they built seven local businesses ranging from a paint contracting company to a flight service. After Mr. Lawson’s death in 1973, Mrs. Lawson continued working in accounting and a variety of other fields including her favorite job at Champ in Edwardsville.
She married Bob Spratling Sr. in 1979, moved in 1981 to McPherson and opened McPherson Painting and Leeann Apartments. They later added ownership of Hotel Dighton in Dighton.
Her husband and a son, Eddie Spratling, died earlier.
Survivors include six children, Pam Lawson, McPherson, Bob Spratling Jr., Mark Lawson, McPherson, Rosie (Dave) Curliss, Greenwood, Mo., Denise (Willie) Border, Bonner Springs, and Susan (John) Green, Peculiar, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
