Willard F. Keylon 1938 - 2011 Tonganoxie

Services for Willard F. Keylon, 73, Tonganoxie, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Basehor. Burial will be in the Holy Angels Catholic Cemetery in Tonganoxie.
Mr. Keylon died from a brief battle with cancer Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at his home while surrounded by his family.
He was born Jan. 16, 1938, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Herb and Lola Keylon.
Mr. Keylon was a 1957 graduate of Turner High School. Upon graduating he entered the U.S. Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Lake Champlain and was proud that the ship rescued the first astronaut in the Mercury space capsule. After returning from the service he went to work at Deluxe Check Printers and retired after 32½ years of employment.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association and Topeka American Legion.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Kathleen Keylon, of the home; three daughters, Renee Meyer (Mark), Basehor, Rhonda Levinson (Tony), Tonganoxie, and Rachelle Leidy (Sean), of the home; two brothers, Thomas Keylon (Ann), Kansas City, Kan., and Harold Keylon, Tonganoxie; a sister, Vera Rodriguez; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs.
The family suggests memorials to Sunflower Hospice of Lansing or the Leavenworth Salvation Army, sent in care of the funeral home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
