Alvin Thomas Hauetter, Jr. Bonner Springs

Tom Hauetter, age 65 of Bonner Springs, KS passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2012 at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. Memorial services will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, also at the funeral home. Private burial will be in the Bonner Springs Cemetery.
Tom achieved the Eagle Scout award in his youth. He was active in his church for many years. Tom’s first career was as a disc jockey. He worked in the Wichita area at several radio stations. The majority of his career was spent as CEO of Smart Ware Corporation. For the past 5 years Tom was retired. He loved creating pottery and had a lifelong love of water and sailing. He enjoyed spending time at the lakes in the area. However, Tom’s true passion was his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. Most of his retirement was spent traveling between the activities of his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Al and Alice Hauetter. Tom is survived by his wife Vickey, his daughters Alena Blancho and husband Shawn of Basehor, KS, and Theresa Toms and husband Justin of DeSoto, KS, sisters Mary Alice Orito of New York, NY and Lily Enright and husband Rick of Santa Maria, CA, as well as 4 grandchildren Wyatt, Josie, Aiyana and Jayce.
Memorial Contributions can be made to the Bonner Springs YMCA or the American Diabetes Association both in care of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home.
