Jasper DeMaranville, Jr., 84, of Basehor, KS passed away peacefully on Fri., Aug. 3, 2012. Funeral services will be 10 am, Fri., Aug. 10, 2012 at the Alden–Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS. With burial to follow in the Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens Cemetery in Shawnee, KS. Friends may call at the visitation from 6 to 8 pm, Thur. evening, Aug. 9, at the funeral home. Jasper was born June 16, 1928 in Bonner Springs, KS to Jasper DeMaranville, Sr. and Lucy Fish DeMaranville. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1952 and later worked for the KCK School District for 33 years retiring in 1991. Jasper was also a local farmer for many years, retiring in 1975. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bethany DeMaranville of the home; 5 daughters Donna Martin, Debra Allen, Diane Hummell (Bill), Denise Porter (Doug), and Danette Wright (Leon); 2 sisters Mary Neiman and Sharon Martin; 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews, other family and friends that will miss him greatly.
