Susan Kaye Barnett 1951 - 2012 Bonner Springs

Susan “Susie” “Sue Mom” Kaye Barnett, age 61 of Bonner Springs, Kansas went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday August 14, 2012 at her home while surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Celebration of Life Services were 11:00 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20th at the Westside Family Church, 8500 Woodsonia Dr., Lenexa, KS. Burial followed in the Lenape Cemetery in rural Bonner Springs. The family received friends at a visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19 at the Alden- Harrington Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Grace Hospice in care of the funeral home.
Susan was born on March 31, 1951 in Kansas City, Kansas. She married her husband Jerry on May 31, 1967 in Bonner Springs and together they have lived in this community their entire married life. Susan was a Rural Route Mail Carrier in Bonner Springs for 30 years. Her true love was spending time with her family and it showed in the pride she took in raising her children and extended family. She was baptized on June 9, 2002 and modeled how to live through her love of the Lord and love of life.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Bertha Ingram, one son David Wayne Barnett and granddaughter Madilyn Coy Barnett, sisters Anna Wayne Gossett and Margaret Huffman and brother Carl Killingsworth. Survivors include her husband Jerry Barnett of the home, two sons Jon Barnett (Coy) of Basehor, KS. and Scott Barnett of the home, sister Irma Faye Lawson, brothers Jim Ingram, Jack Killingsworth, Sam Ingram, four grandchildren Shayla, Alexandria, Angelina, and David as well as other extended family and friends.
