James Thomas Davoren, Kansas City, KS, died January 14, 2012 at Medicalodges of Kansas City.
Mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday January 18, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Kansas City, KS. Burial followed at Holy Angels Cemetery. Visitation was one hour before the service at the church.
James was born July 28, 1921 to Thomas Francis Davoren and Elizabeth Ann McGraw in Hoge, KS. He attended elementary and high school in Tonganoxie, KS. He proudly served in the US Army from 1942-1946. He was a sergeant in the 524th Military Police Battalion and was stationed in Europe during World War II. He was a long term resident of Kansas City and retired from the General Motors parts warehouse. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kansas City and a member of the Basehor VFW Post. He enjoyed gardening, raising rabbits and watching sports involving all the local teams. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Louise, and his brother, Ambrose Davoren.
Survivors include his sister, Mary M. Hobbs, his step daughters, Janice Louise Schons and Janet Kay Bouge; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
