Rolla R. Lee 1942 - 2013 Bonner Springs

Rolla “Sonny” R. Lee, age 70, of Bonner Springs, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Funeral Services where held 6:00 p.m. Tuesday April 2nd at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, burial will follow at a later date in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. A Visitation was from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. prior to the service also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association in care of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home.
Rolla was born on July 21, 1942 in Alton, Illinois. He graduated from Knox High School in Knox, Indiana. He moved with his family to the Kansas City, Kansas area in 1963. Rolla had been the Vice President of the Turner State Bank for over 10 years before he and his wife moved their family to Bonner Springs when he took a job as the Senior Vice President at the First National Bank of Bonner Springs. Rolla was a member of the Bonner Springs Optimist Club, Turner Lions Club and the Chamber of Commerce in both Kansas City, Kansas and Bonner Springs. He was heavily involved in youth sports in the Bonner Springs and Kansas City, Kansas communities.
Rolla is preceded in death by his mother Lucille (Allsman) Lee, father Raymond N. Lee and step-mother Pauline E. Lee, one sister Alberta Tucker and one brother Robert E. Lee. Survivors include his wife of 49 years Pamela Lee of the home, three sons Brian Lee and wife Tara of Bonner Springs, Jason Lee and wife Sarah of Shawnee, KS., and Greg Lee of Bonner Springs, one daughter Wendy Wibberding and husband Darren of Leavenworth, KS. Eleven brothers and sisters, eleven grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
