Darrel Dean Woolf 1956 - 2013 Belton, Missouri

Darrel Dean Woolf, a 30 year resident of Belton, Missouri and childhood resident of Edwardsville, Kansas, fell asleep in the Lord at home Friday, April 19th 2013. He was the husband of Denise Winn Woolf and father of six surviving children – Jeremy Woolf, Michelle Wammack-Kilker, Melissa Woolf-Simmons, Nicholas, Evan and Erin Woolf still living in the home.
Darrel was the youngest of the three sons of Robert D. Woolf and Audrey Gallagher-Woolf. He was born May 16, 1956, in Kansas City, Kansas and was an alumni of Bonner Springs High School class of 1974. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
Darrel was a long time employee of Ford at the Claycomo plant, UAW Local 249. He was in the maintenance department as an electrician retiring May 1, 2012 after 37 years of service. A loyal fan of Frank Zappa’s music, he often suffered jabs of insult from friends for this passion. Thus passes a light hearted soul, whose quips often armed or defused the commotion of the moment.
He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, six children, son-in-law Max Simmons, two brothers Mike and Kurt Woolf, a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of saints and friends.
A memorial service at First Baptist Church of Raytown is planned for Friday, April 26th, 2013 at 4pm. Family visitation begins at 3pm. Donations and memorials in Darrel’s name can be made to First Baptist Church of Raytown or St. Luke’s Hospice.
