She also worked at Walgreen’s for the last 3 years. Laura was a highly decorated competitive swimmer for many years and swam for Bonner Springs Swim Club and Bonner Springs Aquatic (Fun Valley) Dolphins. She also competed in the Kansas State Games and the State Championship Games in Colorado Springs. As an only child, Laura was the center of our world. The void we now feel is immense and she will be missed dearly. Laura had an electric smile and contagious laughter. She could light up a room with her energetic personality and made friends easily wherever she went. She leaves behind scores of friends but many of them she revered as unofficial siblings, cousins and aunts or uncles. She was a leader, role model and unending source of encouragement to her teammates, classmates, co-workers and friends. She touched more lives in more ways than she could have ever known and will forever hold a special place in the hearts of many. Laura was an avid animal lover and for her Senior Project she volunteered at Safe Harbor Animal Rescue in Basehor, Kansas. As one last gesture of caring and generosity, Laura will live on in the lives of 58 organ and tissue recipients. She was preceded in death by her grandfather William H. Trout, great-grandparents, C.E. and Bettie M. Barrickman, great-grandmother Laura M. Allbee, great-grandparents George and Virginia Kahre.
