Dean Jordan 1936 - 2013 Bonner Springs, KS

Dean Jordan, age 77, of Bonner Springs, KS passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Manor Care of Overland Park. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 30, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS, burial to follow in Bonner Springs Cemetery. Friends may call at the visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 30 at the funeral home prior to the service. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Bonner Springs Boy Scouts Troup 149 in care of the funeral home.
Dean was born on June 15, 1936 by El Dorado Lake on the way to the hospital in El Dorado, KS. After growing up in Ottawa, KS he moved to the Bonner Springs area in 1961. Dean was very active in the community serving on the volunteer fire department as the Chief for several years, he was also very active in the Local Boy Scouts Troup 149 serving in many positions including Scout Master for many years. He was a Bonner Springs City Councilman from 1971 to 1977 and was the city M.A.R.C. representative. Dean was also involved in Jaycees and helped start the Tiblow Days Festival in 1965. He worked for many years for LeRoy Tombs Contracting Company he also sold fire trucks and ambulances for American Fire Equipment, and more recently retired from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in 2002. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Elaine Jordan of the home. Two sons Rick Jordan (Pam) of Shawnee, KS and Jeff Jordan (Tammi)of Bonner Springs, KS and one daughter Susie Titus (Jerry) of Bonner Springs, KS. One brother Glen E.
