Edna Marie (Parks) Lange
Edna Marie (Parks) Lange, 89, went to spend her eternal life in Heaven on Sunday, October 20, 2013. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Leonard Lange. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Edna enjoyed living life on their farm in rural Bonner Springs. She attended Bonner Springs High School and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1941. During WWII, she supported the effort by attending blueprint school, inspecting aircraft and being one of the first women employees at Lone Star Cement, working in the lab.
A talented watercolor artist and enthusiastic flower gardener, Edna retired as an executive secretary for the Social Security Administration and then became a licensed real estate agent. She spent many winters in Arizona tending to her roses, swimming and enjoying the sun. She died peacefully at home with her family surrounding her. She is survived by her two daughters, Wendy Lange Scheidt and husband Keith of Bonner Springs, KS and Linda Lange Kelty and husband Mike of Tucson, AZ. Grandchildren include Megan Scheidt Gilliland (Chad), Colby Scheidt (Kimberly), Bret Hogan, Bart Hogan (Sandra), Brooke Rodriguez (Alejandro), Beth DeGarmo, Blair Lange and 13 great-grandchildren. In eternity, she will remain beautiful, graceful and stylish to all who knew and loved her. We miss you; you are in our hearts forever.
