David F. Cowart of Kansas City, Kansas went home to be with God on November 20, 2015 after a brief illness. Visitation was Mon. Nov. 23, 2015 at Highland Park Funeral Home, Services are at 10 AM Tues. Nov. 24, 2015 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Kansas City, Ks.
He was born February 21, 1937 and was a life-long resident.
He served his country with pride as a member of the National Guard and the United States Navy.
He was a residential plumber for over 40 years. After retirement he worked for USD 500 and On Tyme Delivery.
He was deeply religious and loved the Lord. He showed this by serving in many different ways through his music and volunteering. His last hours were spent leading his family in prayer and singing hymns.
He loved his family, friends, pets and traveling. Some of his favorite places were New Zealand, Colorado and anywhere where God's beauty was abundant.
He was a fun-loving man who was always eager to help friends and strangers alike.
He leaves behind his wife of 50 years Martha Cowart. He also leaves behind 4 grateful children who love him more than words could ever say. Denise Gibson of Lansing, KS, Stephanie Eickhoff and her husband, James, whom he loved like a son of Edwardsville, KS, David Cowart and his wife, Katy, whom he loved like a daughter of Olathe, KS and Amanda Cowart of the home.
Other survivors include 2 brothers, 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, many extended family members and a large host of dear friends.
