Do you agree with President Obama's planned strategy for Afghanistan?

Robin Jones ( in Tonganoxie) says...

“No. I don't agree with asking our troops to risk their lives and then not providing sufficient numbers to accomplish the task. I also find the timing of his announcement to coincide with the debate on health care somewhat suspect. I think it is an attempt to divert attention from the senate health care bill. When people find out more (or heaven forbid actually read the bill) they are usually quite alarmed at its contents.”

Brady Field ( in Tonganoxie) says...

“Considering I'm going to debate this topic in my debate class, I could see both sides of the issue. I do believe that we need to secure the Kandahar Province, where most of the Taliban are trying to take control. However, I don't believe that we'll get out of the Middle East as fast as Obama hopes, whether we send more troops there or not. It is going to be a long process to bring stability to the Middle East.”

Gloria Brimhall ( in Tonganoxie) says...

“No, I don’t think we should send troops. You would think we would learn from history. You know, Russia sent troops in there and look how that turned out. I don’t know what the answer is, but sending more people to be killed, harmed and maimed is not the answer.”
