Do you think the $787 billion stimulus bill Congress recently passed will help or hinder the economy?

Dalton Lawson ( in Tonganoxie) says...
“I believe the bailout should and will help us because the money is going to tax cuts and some of the money is going to infrastructure, along with plans for new alternative energy. Also our senators think it’s a good idea because they passed the bill by more than 15 votes majority.”
Janet Angell-Felts ( in Tonganoxie) says...
"I hope it will help because something needs to be done, but I have my doubts. The problems were not created overnight, so we need time to recover. Plus everyone who can, including the government, should make concessions to their way of spending and not expect the Stimulus Bill to be the total answer to our sad economy. Also, a debt needs to be repaid, so I worry just how much of a future tax burden we and the next generation will have from this Bill.
Dan Lynch ( in Tonganoxie) says...
“I think that it will help those companies and individuals that are directly receiving monies from the stimulus package, but only time will tell whether this will have a trickle-down effect on all aspects of the economy. It is unfortunate that the lack of leadership from our past elected officials caused the current economic conditions.”
