How are you contributing to charitable agencies or events in this economy?

“My husband and I place a high priority in giving both time and money to causes we believe in and our involved with. Over the years our interests change, but fortunately we have not yet been forced to cut back.”
Russ Revis ( in Shawnee) says...
“My family and I are looking to donate the same amount as last year and increase our volunteer time. We support SAFEHOME and Animal Haven.”
Kent Zimmerman ( in Shawnee) says...
“Much of our charitable giving is in the form of volunteer hours at Shawnee Town, Meals on Wheels, etc., and that has not changed. We continue to donate to our preferred causes, but weed some of those out from time to time for reasons other than the economy.”

“My contributions remain the same as in the past. It seems that there is an increase in solicitations from charitable organizations, which indicates a decrease in donations.”

“We are doing a little bit of both. So far, we've been able to continue contributing to the same charitable organizations as in the past. Hopefully we'll be able to continue doing so. This year I was invited to travel to Cedar Rapids to help restore a church that was damaged during the flood.”
